Travis Scott has had a pretty booming musical career. According to The Business of Fashion, he first started getting attention for his music in 2016, when he won a BET Hip Hop Award for his song, “Antidote.” But his biggest success to date was his 2019 track, “Sicko Mode,” which is also arguably his best-known song. For that song, he won the Top Streaming Song award at the Billboard Awards and has since been nominated for at least 20 other awards for his music.

As AfroTech previously reported, the Cactus Jack Foundation — the philanthropy arm of Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack productions — partnered with the New School’s Parsons School of Design to launch scholarship programs for HBCU students. This was part of a larger philanthropic effort created by the rapper as part of his annual “Travis Scott Day,” which was created to celebrate all the efforts that the Astroworld Festival was instrumental in bringing about prior to the unfortunate tragedy.

In 2020, The Observer reported that Travis Scott purchased a palatial mansion in the Los Angeles district of Brentwood. He paid $23.5 million for the seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom mega-home. In 2022, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Scott was following the trend set by the likes of Rihanna and Kevin Hart by purchasing the home next door to his palatial Brentwood estate, scooping the joint for about $6 million.
