My sister-in-law quizzed me, and for every question I got right she gave me a $5 gift card to a lingerie store; it was awesome! I’m now doing the same for my own sister.
And the questions are silly, and don’t have to be super intimate. But if you don’t know simple things about your fiancé, should you be getting married so soon?

I love the idea of gift cards instead of chocolate. What a way to really make it worth the bride’s time! I think a good mix of easy questions and hard questions make the game more fun for the viewers and the bride. You want the bride to get some right (when is his birthday, etc.), but you also want her to struggle with some of the more obscure questions… or even the questions that seem obvious but are more open to interpretation. My husband and my first official date was different from the first time we hung out together just the two of us. I counted the earlier one as our first date because it was when we realized we had a thing for each other, but he said the one where he had planned an elaborate date. It’s fun to find these inconsistencies in thought. That’s why the newlywed game was so popular back in the day.

This game sounds perfect! Thanks for the idea, my bride friend loves being on the spot so this is perfect!!!

Thx for the post B!
Anyone have other good questions to add to these?I like: “Where & how did you meet for the first time?”
Although some of these comments are encouraging, none are very constructive….

Thanks for the tip about asking the right questions. That makes all the difference.

Excellent ideas! I just organized a wedding bath for an mature new bride and could not come up with any activities that weren’t “childish” This would have been so helpful! These activities are wonderful! I’m definitely pinning for use in the future! Thank you so much for sharing! Bridal Shower Game Ideas

Yeah this is of the great kinds of the enjoyment and the great sort of the amusem*nt for groom and also for the bridal. So i recommend it for ever.

I did this at my cousin’s bridal shower, it was hilarious! I would definitely recommend it.
Anonymouson August 1, 2013 at 8:16 pm
Doing this for bachelorette party. If she answers wrong, then she has to choose a truth/dare token and perform it. If correctly answers, then she picks someone else.

We did this game at my wedding shower in June and I LOVED IT! It was hilarious! I’m fine with being center of attention and even though I got quite a few answers wrong, it was easy to laugh it off and carry on 🙂

We are doing this game for my future sister-in-law, however, instead of gum or marshmallows, we are having her put on some tacky accessory (wig, hat, necklace) for every wrong answer.
Anonymouson April 2, 2013 at 4:49 am
My best firends aunt set this game up at my besties bridal shower but instead of putting the bride in the spotlight she had the questions printed out and handed them to the guests (luckily we had a cheat sheet) and who ever got the most right won a prize (i new my friend the best and i won a dollar store picture frame cute n cheap!) the questions where for both bride and groom it was fun

I have played this game at bridal showers I hosted and attended. We used marshmallows, less chocking hazard.
Also, as an alternative, because one of my friends didn’t want to do it at her bridal shower, we asked her husband to be to come in and we asked him the questions she had answered. The rest of the guests loved it!! And her man was more than willing to make a fool of himself in front of her family and friends. 🙂Anonymouson August 5, 2013 at 8:31 pm
Great idea!

I love this cute game and did it for one of my bridesmaids at her shower. We didn’t use gum or anything just had her answer them and she loved learning new things about her groom to be. I wouldn’t mind if my bridesmaids did this for me, but I would want them to leave the gum and chocolate out. It’s just as fun without that.

We played this game at my sister’s bridal shower. She absolutely hated it because she does NOT like being put on the spot at all. So definitely make sure the bride is okay with this kind of attention. (I also led this game for a friend’s bridal shower and she loved it, so it really is dependent on the person.)
Also, at my sister’s shower, the reward was canned food and the consequence for wrong answers was canned food with the label removed; it was useful but at the same time fun (if she had enjoyed it…).
Anonymouson May 1, 2014 at 7:47 pm
That is a funny idea to use canned foods labels an not.

I also had this game played at my bridal shower and it was hilarious; I loved it. My maid of honor asked my then fiancé 20 questions and I got 5 wrong. We used large marshmallows and while I was allowed to chew them to make 5 fit, I couldn’t swallow any of them till we were done with the questions. I have a good sense of humor and don’t mind being laughed at; which is what everyone was doing as my answers were more and more mumbled from the marshmallows in my mouth! It was great!

To avoid choking why not make this a drinking game! Answer a question wrong you take a shot! Or a sip of wine or beer, answer right you get to drink water or eat something! Just an idea!
Anonymouson April 5, 2013 at 8:50 pm
Yes, because an inebriated bride on the verge of puking at her own wedding shower where there is likely family present is SO much better than stuffing gum in your mouth :-p
Anonymouson April 8, 2013 at 2:50 pm
I think turning it into a drinking game is a fabulous idea!
Anonymouson April 16, 2013 at 12:00 am
I’ve done this at as a drinking game at almost every shower I’ve been to or thrown… It’s a great way to get the Bride going… just don’t give her straight liquor and as long as she can hold her booze you should be fine. It’s actually a lot of fun (mostly cause the bride tries to control herself in front of the in laws).
Anonymouson May 3, 2014 at 7:36 pm
I think it would be fun to try it with Jello Shots. Depending on how many questions, if there is lots then put less alcohol in the Jello shots. You could also do them in the Brides wedding colors.
Anonymouson March 8, 2013 at 2:39 pm
All I see are choking brides…
Anonymouson March 2, 2013 at 10:53 am
We did this game at my bridal shower, and while I got some questions wrong, I didn’t care, because the questions were stupid! However, it was my mother’s idea that we use MARSHMALLOWS instead of gum, and I wasn’t allowed (or able) to chew and swallow them. Hilarious photos.
Anonymouson April 7, 2013 at 10:14 pm
We did that also with marshmallows. They questioned me and my fiance. We both had mouths full. It was pretty funny but I don’t think either of us will be eating marshmallows any time soon. 😀
Anonymouson March 1, 2013 at 4:06 am
what’s the point of the chocolate pieces?
Bobbie Grosson March 1, 2013 at 5:00 am
The chocolate pieces are just the bride’s reward for getting answers correct. You can leave them out if you want, but it’s kind of nice to have rewards as well as consequences. 🙂 Obviously, these are just set aside for the bride to have later since her mouth will be full of gum.
Anonymouson March 2, 2013 at 5:17 am
gotcha! thanks for the idea, i’m gonna try this! 🙂

I hated this game. It was such a pain and made me feel like a fool, as if I didn’t know my fiance. Don’t reccommend it to anyone.
Anonymouson March 7, 2013 at 11:01 pm
wah wah, baby want your bottle? relax and have a little fun for once
Anonymouson March 8, 2013 at 2:37 pm
Wow, that is kind of mean. Grow up and realize that everyone likes different things. Saying she is a baby just because she does not like being put on the spot kind of makes you the childish one…Some brides do not like being the center of attention, which is fine. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. It is unfortunate that her family/friends do not know her well enough to know that she wouldn’t like this kind of game. As a bride to be, I am hoping that this kind of game will not be played at my shower. Coming from a healthcare background, all I see is the choking hazard…
Anonymouson March 16, 2013 at 10:16 pm
I’m with Anon #2. It’s like bachelorette parties with penis cakes – not everyone likes that or thinks it’s funny.
I don’t think this is all that humorous, really. Just stupid photos of the bride with her mouth stuffed with gum? I guess I don’t get dumb humor.
Alicia McGuckinon April 30, 2013 at 4:17 pm
Just because you didn’t like it, doesn’t mean it’s not fun. Grow up
Anonymouson January 19, 2014 at 7:19 pm
Wow, people are such bullies. I can see how a lot of people might not enjoy something like this, myself included. I don’t get “pie-in-the-face” humor and definitely don’t think that’s because I need to “grow up.”
Sorry you didn’t enjoy your shower “The Glover Family.” This doesn’t show that you don’t know your fiance so much as that your friends don’t know you very well. Hope the rest of the event was fun for you! And congrats.
